My husband has made an excellent choice for our travel break, finding a fantastic eatery that's been a local favorite since 1961. The place holds a special charm, and its authenticity is unmistakable. The nostalgia it sparks is powerful, bringing tears to my husband's eyes as childhood memories flood back. To all food enthusiasts, we highly recommend this place; it's an experience worth every penny.
Had an excellent experience at Perlys. I tried the Reuben which was very soft and tender. The meat was full of flavor you can taste how well they prepare it. I also had the Tel Aviv Trio which was such a delightful mix of flavors. Schmearing the different taste of baba-ganoush, hummus, and labneh make such a powerful combination on any the vegetables on the platter. 10/10 experience I highly recommend, and will be back again.
We are new to the area and were so happy to find a Jewish Deli! The only hard part was deciding what to order. However, we were also able to order things to take with us! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was fun! Looking forward to our next visit.
An excellent meal with great customer service! A friend was in from out of town so I took her to Perly's and we got a full spread with enough for three meals. The meat knish with mustard and a sweet beet and cabbage salad is one of the best things there. The vegetarian knish is excellent but has a milder flavor with a thick sauce. The Shapiro Schnitzel sandwich was 11/10. The Benny Goodman was so crunchy! The dill hollandaise was amazing on the smoked salmon. We would eat everything again. But we would also like to try everything we saw our neighboring booths eat too lol.
Perly's Jewish Delicatessen in Richmond, VA - definitely worth the stop! The food is so fresh and the atmosphere fun. Reuben & Jewbano sandwiches (the rye bread was so good!), Borscht & Matzoh Ball soups (warm & hearty!), authentic deli pickles, and some garlic dill fries! One very full and happy family, here!
Very quaint Jewish deli in Richmond. Very busy spot even towards the end of their day closing at 3pm. We enjoyed the large portions and had food to take back to our hotel for later. Would definitely return to Perly's to experience other menu options!
If you love an authentic deli, and NYC is too far away, then get over to Perly's in Richmond, VA! This is the real deal. You want some nice matzo ball soup? Sit. Sit. It is among the best you've ever had. And whitefish salad on an everything bagel? What's not to like? And, how about a nice potato latke? We've got sour cream and applesauce to go with it. 5 Stars. And we will be back!
People go to Perlys for sandwiches (which are also delicious btw) I go for breakfast! Love the beef bacon and beef sausage options 😋 and they have the best latkes I've ever had from a restaurant. Meal pictured is "The schonner" coffee included w/homemade bagel.
I wish I could give them more than five stars. Perly's is hands down one of the best restaurants in Richmond and a place that I find myself recommending to everyone and to think we almost didn't stop in. If you're visiting for breakfast, The Schnorrer it's an absolute must try it's the perfect introduction to what makes pearly so special they're corned beef hash is easily the best I've ever had perfectly seasoned flavorful and cooked just right and the potato lot keys are incredible crispy on the outside tender on the inside packed with flavor Everything that we tried was delicious and of course there's no way we could eat everything so the bagels and smear we just took home and savored at another time. Whether you're just passing through or want to take a trip to Richmond just to try them definitely deserves to be added to your want to go list The service was impeccable
We stopped by Perly’s on our way to Virginia Beach and I was pleased with the kindness of the staff and the quality of the food. I got the Jewbano sandwich which had delicious beef tongue and brisket, with a nice pickled taste from the cherry peppers. The latkes were not too dense, and had a nice flavor come through. I also liked the chocolate egg cream. The servers were kind, knowledgeable, and served our food within 15 minutes. When we accidentally spilled water onto our table, the servers rushed to clean the spill and helped us get spare change so we could pay for parking nearby. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you are ever in the Richmond area.
